This is specifically why the show is shit.
So here's the thing. Seth Rogan keeps picking legendary, edgy, limited run comic series to produce. He tries to shoehorn in new plots and characters to stretch the series into running 10+ years, when in reality the series might be good for 2, maybe 3 seasons. But instead of allowing the writers and directors to produce a quality product by showcasing the fucked up content (which is typically an endearing point among readers of the comics), he waters down the content. This is done in a manner that is intended to maintain the integrity of any content that offends White, Straight, Christian, Conservatives; yet remove any of the content that might offend the liberal base (LGBT, Socialist, neo-moral individuals). The inherent problem with this approach is that the vast majority of actually comedic content contained in the comic media Rogan has selected, is only found offensive by the "snowflake" demographics, the perpetually offended and constantly vitriolic outspoken minority. This content is replaced with concepts that espouse the social justice movement, in an effort once again, to ostracized the conservative members of the audience. Thus when they voice outrage at the content Rogan can claim he is being targeted by said conservatives and present himself as a hero among liberal media. However, the days of this tactic working in a concise order are gone, and all this process does is produce "blue-pill" content, which ends up shoehorning social justice memes into the TV series, at the expense of coherent, quality narrative.
